seriously my high blood pressure, that i've had for about 8 years now is in the super normal range. even in the middle of my head spinning, thought i was going to die kidney stone trip to the ER, my pressure was 121/78. 138-143/92 was my normal for years. in the 3 dr's appts and my non-surgical-surgical kidney stone procedure since, it was 121/78.
that's how much stress my last job was putting on me. i'm sooooooooooo glad that i'm not there anymore. they did boost my resume up awesomely. thanks LPA for 2 first place awards, a second place award and 2 3rd places. it looks awesome on my resume and it looks like you a damn fuckin' fool for getting rid of an award winning designer. so :P
so, the first month i was home, a lot got done! i re-arranged our formal dining room/living room. i still don't like it all that much, but i'm hoping a coat of paint and recovering the chairs will make me like it more. i really want to rip up the nasty ass almost white carpet crazy bitch (former owner), put in.
WHO PUTS ALMOST WHITE CARPET IN A DINING ROOM???
crazy bitch, that's who. i need to write a post just about crazy bitch.
so after re-arranging that room, i took a few convention center jobs. i LOVE LOVE LOVE that job. it also pays more than when i'm a graphic designer. i love my little old ladies. they are so wonderful.
they were so excited to have me back working. they wrote up a nice little report on me for future conventions. something that never has happened at any other place i've worked. everybody at the nomcvb is so nice and sweet. sure there are a few that i steer clear of because they are bat shit crazy, but i'd say that 95% of the ladies are wonderful!
i also picked up a freelance job for a new magazine. i'm doing ads and should be starting layout soon. that is the most awesomest job!! i don't have to go into an office. nobody talks to me like i'm shit like at my last job. awesome! and i can do it from the comfort of my big ole lazy boy!
except last month when we were traveling in baltimore and i had to do it up there. yikes! and thanks to five guys somewhere in tennessee for having free wifi so i could do some work on the road.
with being home, i also don't have to worry about missing thomas' speech therapy. so don't have to feel guilty about leaving work to be with my kid. suck it work assholes, you can't make me feel guilty for being a mom and having to be there for my son.
speech therapy is coming along. he's babbling more. says a few new words. his favorite word is help. or halp in his southern alabama drawl. we had to go last month for orleans parish school testing. that's where he has to transfer when he turns 3 in dec.
OPSB thought he was retarded. i don't understand how when you said does not talk compares to doesn't understand or complete full on retard. because that's exactly what they thought. i love how i said DOES NOT TALK, IS NOT VERBAL and they say name this. dumb fucking bitches.
once i got him to point out the letters of the alphabet, they started to realize, oh, he really doesn't talk. duh. so he ran circles around those assholes at the SB office. we find out in a month or so when he'll start going to speech at the nearest school (harte) and what the schedule will be.
i really don't know where the last 2 months or so have gone! between speech therapy and our trip to baltimore, idk!
we do kiddie story time at the library on wednesdays. and run little errands so we don't go crazy sitting at home.
trains take up most of our days. thomas and all his friends are usually circling the coffee table, flying off because there's so many and going so fast!
thomas, one of his godmothers, her cousin and i took him to the beach for the 1st time. he adjusted to the sand pretty well. the water, not so much. until it was almost time to leave when we were looking for shells. then he decided he wanted to splash at the shore.
i really need to post more on here. maybe when i get my etsy shop up. i'm also working on starting a jewlery/craft spot on etsy.
guess i'll leave you with a few of my favorite pic's over the last 2 months....
